All student grooming takes place in our professional grooming academy under the guidance and supervision of an experienced tutor.

Our Academy appointments are offered at reduced prices because they form part of our students' practical training and may take longer than a standard professional grooming appointment.

Short Coat Bath & Dry

For short-coated breeds only.

Ideal for dogs that require regular bathing and coat maintenance but do not require clipping, trimming or extensive coat work.

Your dog's appointment includes:

Bath using professional grooming products
Blow dry
Brush through
Nail trim
Ear check/clean where appropriate

Toy Breed — £15

Giant Breed — £30

Suitable breeds may include Labradors, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Beagles, Staffies, Boxers, short-coated Dachshunds and similar short-coated breeds.

Full Groom & Styling

For dogs requiring clipping, scissoring, trimming or breed styling.

Your dog's appointment includes:

Bath using professional grooming products
Blow dry
Full coat preparation
Clipping, scissoring and/or styling as appropriate
Nail trim
Ear check/clean where appropriate

Grooming Options

Because these appointments form part of practical training, we need to work with dogs and grooming styles that support our students' current training and assessment requirements.

We will discuss the grooming options available for your dog before the appointment, taking into consideration their breed, coat type, coat condition, welfare and our current training requirements.

This means we may not always be able to offer every style or length through the Academy programme.

Which Dogs Are Suitable?

We welcome a wide variety of breeds and coat types throughout the year.

To provide the best learning experience for our students, we particularly value dogs that:

Are comfortable being handled and groomed
Are used to regular grooming where appropriate
Have coats suitable for the training taking place
Are reasonably well maintained and free from significant matting
Can comfortably manage the longer Academy appointment

Dogs requiring extensive dematting or significant additional coat work may not be suitable for a student grooming appointment. We will always put the dog's welfare first.

Regular Academy Appointments

We love welcoming dogs back regularly.

Regular appointments help keep your dog's coat in good condition while also giving our students valuable experience working with dogs at different stages of their grooming journey.

For dogs requiring styling, we may ask that the coat is maintained in a style suitable for our current training requirements.

How Does Student Grooming Work?

Depending on our training requirements, your dog may be groomed by a student under close tutor supervision or by a member of the Radleys grooming team.

Students are supported throughout their practical training, and all work is checked as required.

Your dog's welfare and comfort always come first.

Academy grooming appointments are available Monday to Friday.

Drop-off: 9:30am
Collection: approximately 1:30pm

Academy appointments take longer than standard professional grooming appointments because students are learning and developing their practical skills.
